Neijingtu the map of the inner tissues
(Part 2) By Udo Lorenzen
The Neijingtu, also described as a »map of the inner landscape«, has long been used in the practice of still Qigong particularly in the »small heavenly cycle« to reveal particular points and difficulties during meditation. Udo Lorenzen has translated the representation and the accompanying commentaries from Chinese and combined these with his long experience of traditional Chinese medicine. In the preceding issue of the TQJ he explained the basic principles of the small heavenly circle and the paths of inner alchemy represented in the Neijingtu, as well as the individual elements in the lower section of the illustration which deal with the transformation of Jing to Qi. In the second part he examines the further points which mostly involve the transformation of Qi to Shen.
