Neijingtu the map of the inner tissues
By Udo Lorenzen
The origins of the Neijingtu, also described as a »map of the inner landscape«, are unknown. For a long time the illustration has been used in the practice of still Qigong, especially in the »small heavenly cycle«, to draw attention to particular points and difficulties during meditation. Udo Lorenzen has translated the representation and the accompanying commentaries from Chinese and combined these with his years of experience in traditional Chinese medicine. He describes the Neijingtu as an allegory for the path of inner alchemy and the achievement of immortality.
The second part of his commentary will be published in the next issue of the TQJ.
