Gentle healing treatment with Qi
Qigong acupressure and massage
By Li Jiacheng
Besides still and moving exercises, Qigong also encompasses the transfer of Qi to other persons and a type of energetic massage. This latter aspect is still fairly unfamiliar in our culture. Qigong massage works on the same principle as the better known Tuina and in part also with the same techniques, which however are chiefly carried out with Qi and less with physical strength. Li Jiacheng teaches this form of massage as part of Jindan Dao, a Daoist Qigong tradition. In order to treat people with Qigong massage one must first acquire one’s own experience with Qigong, which builds up Qi and trains how to deal with it, and also have a basic knowledge of Chinese medicine. This method can be used successfully to treat both chronic and serious ailments.
