Joy and the absence of intent in teaching and learning
On the significance of presence in training.
By Manfred Folkers
The art of communicating Qigong and Taijiquan is often discussed only in terms of Chinese and Western teaching methods. With this contribution by Manfred Folkers we start a new series of articles that will focus on this theme from various perspectives. In the view of Manfred Folkers many underestimate the meditative dimension of Qigong and Taijiquan practice. But in fact these methods provide many fine possibilities for sensing and becoming aware of one’s own inner state. He attributes this effect to the Daoist and Buddhist aspects and advocates that it be included and promoted in the teaching process.
