The key to inner calm in Qigong

By Foen Tjoeng Lie

Achieving inner calm is an essential prerequisite in Qigong and especially in Jinggong, and at the same time a great challenge for many people. Foen Tjoeng Lie summarizes the standard methods of practice that have been developed to help the mind achieve a state of calm. These function on three levels: in breathing, in the focussing of attention to a point outside or inside the body, and in the reduction of desires, which in turn is achieved through growing awareness of these desires, general avoidance, and closing of the ‘seven openings’.
