Learning from the classics
On the written tradition of Taijiquan

By Martin Bödicker

The importance of the classical texts for learning Taijiquan is often emphasized, but to date only a few attempts have been made to translate these into German. Basing his approach on the interaction of Wen and Wu, the cultural and martial aspects, Martin Bödicker indicates how the insights of the ancient masters can clarify one’s own training path. In addition, he identifies the direct influences of Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism on the texts.
