"When Yin and Yang separate, the essences and the spirit will exhaust themselves"

Mental and physical strain and their resolution through chinese inner practise systems. By Zheng Qingbin

Stress related illnesses are no longer only found in the western industrialised world but are also spreading in the tiger states of South East Asia. Zheng Qingbin, who teaches Qigong and Taijiquan according to the Zheng Manqing tradition in Taiwan, has specialised in stress management and the strengthening of the powers of self healing. He describes how permanent psychological and mental strain impairs the human body by changing the hormonal balance, the metabolism and other operational circuits in a way that makes it impossible for people affected to deliberate a way to relaxation. In such cases, practising Qigong without a previous calming of the mind and "cleansing of the heart" can make matters worse. On the other hand a physical relaxation especially of the joint-areas can have a relaxing effect on mind and psyche.
