Penetrating like water
Sitting Meditation Practices from the Water Method.
By Bruce Kumar Frantzis
The Daoist tradition of the water method emphasises letting go and relaxation to liberate the spirit. Once the body has been adequately prepared, meditation exercises while sitting allow more direct access to inner transformation processes than meditation exercises while standing or moving, as less attention is needed for the body position. Based on years of experience of Daoist practices Bruce Kumar Frantzis explains suitable sitting positions and basic techniques with which, with a conscious witnessing of the flow of breath and of vibrations created within the body, one can penetrate ever further into ones own body. The aim is to achieve complete awareness and control of the inside of the body and all internal functions through continuous practice. Emotional, mental, and psychological blockages can be removed by a conscious penetration of the inside of the body.
