The Skeleton: Secretly in the Service of Taijiquan?
By Ömer Humbaraci
Ömer Humbaraci sees a decisive step in learning Taijiquan in starting to look at the physical qualities of the skeleton. A close examination of these body mechanics allows us to maximise the transfer of power in the body. As an introduction to this complex topic and as a stimulus for personal exploration the author has limited himself to a few elementary aspects. The comparison between vault constructions in architecture and the position of legs and pelvis shows clearly how small differences can make a big change to the whole structure.
