The Development of Different Styles in the Chen Family.

There are many different versions of the history of Taijiquan. Dietmar Stubenbaum has collected important passages from the annals of the Chen family, which give information about some of the important members of the family. In addition, his teacher Chen Peishan clears up a few often-recurring errors. The different terms for forms and types of style in Chen Taijiquan often lead to confusion. This is further increased by the fact that some terms are used in different ways. Dietmar Stubenbaum, who himself is learning several different Chen styles and has met a number of well known masters in China and Taiwan, explains the association of Dajia and Xiaojia, Laojia and Xinjia as well as Zhaobao Taijiquan and Huleijia.
