Let´s leave the ivory tower
Case for politicisation.
By Helmut Oberlack
Qigong and Taijiquan have been practised and taught in Europe for many years. Decidedly informal early years of training were followed by officially recognised training courses in the 90s, offered by an ever-increasing number of different organisations. This development took place because public institutions had increased their pressure on teachers to gain recognised certificates. Until today there is a colourful variety of training courses and a common lobby, which could exercise influence on the upcoming legal regulations, still does not exist. Helmut Oberlack argues in favour of a professional organisation of teachers of Taijiquan and Qigong, which could, at the same time, help to establish Taijiquan and Qigong in society.
